The Archive of Lily Boeykens

Lily Boeykens

By disclosing the private archives of Lily Boeykens, a whole range of unique documents on the women's movement in Flanders since the seventies has been made available to the public. A detailed catalogue of the archives could serve as a starting point for the study of the history of the Flemish women's movement(s), as a documented alternative to the, also valuable, publications concerning which are primarily based on the experiences and the memories of feminist activists.

At the end of 1999, the Flemish Government assigned RoSa Documentation Centre to put the private archives of Lily Boeykens on file.

The project started on 1 January 2000. A first part of the project was released at the end of that same year by the publication of an electronic catalogue of the archives.

The archives' introduction, the index and the table of contents are available in Dutch. The computerised version of the catalogue and the archives is available at RoSa Documentation Centre. The catalogue will soon be made available on-line.
